If you are sponsored by your husband's employer, you may be able to pick up hourly paid work.

This can be a good option as you work hours you want, don't have to get involved in the politics, can leave if the place doesn't suit you. Part time work also builds up your experience and, if you do your background checks, gives your regular income.

When I have been struggling with the 'management' in places, I have often looked with envy at the part timers.
