Hmmm, I think we better get back to the original point.
I guess I've expanded it from 'sufficient funds' to 'be aware of possible pitfalls one might encounter in a new job abroad.'
List so far:
Incomprehensible housing contracts (can lead to untimely expulsion from domicile).
Temptation to over-party and under-prepare-and-work.
Temptation to get too friendly with students (not quite so tongue-in-cheek as it might sound - can be a MAJOR pitfall).
Should we leave our esteemed OP alone and start a new thread to describe the situations we think newbies would be wise to avoid?? That could be quite interesting, especially if we can categorise it by regions. |
