I prefer to think of age (47 in my case) as an advantage. I'm reminded of the old tale:

When I was 16 my father was so ignorant. By the time I was 21, I was amazed how much he'd learned!

Now in "la edad de las nuncas" I feel no need to "keep up" with the younger generation, just to pity them! Very Happy

Sure. For the benefit of my Spanish speaking colleagues:

"Nunca he visto esas canas antes"

"Nunca me he sentido tan cansado"

"Nunca han sido las escaleras tan largas"

etc Very Happy

Thanks for the explanation, Phil. Wait till you're 65 (like me), and then you'll really have a few things to complain about, or to ignore, because life really is too short to spend all your time kvetching about things that can't be helped Wink

Dear Isla Guapa,

65, huh? Ah, I can still recall that age (all of two years ago.) Makes me kind of wonder who might be the oldest poster on Dave's.

67 going once, 67 going twice . . . . Very Happy

Regards,
Geezer John

Dear Fellow Geezer,

If you can still recall two years ago, then you're doing pretty well! Very Happy

Cheers,

Isla Guapa
