| Dr J, why has your time here gone sour? What happened? Are you trying to get our wages increased by seeking to persuade the avalanche of new meat not to come? |

| There is an unusual case in China now whereas a young man complied information from the internet and published a book called the Terrorist Handbook and then set the information up for download. He has been charged but the down loaders were not. |

It's been a couple years since I was in China but I saw no problem accessing the internet. A few sites (facebook, yahoo search, etc) were blocked but I had no difficulty accessing the others. also, I used skype regularly to call home. I doubt things have changed much in 2 years.
You hear a lot of horror stories about the schools. My recommendation is to try a university. Definitely contact them directly, don't go through recruiters. Pay isn't as good but, my experience, they honor the contract & the kids were great. Also, it seems there are still a lot of open positions that go unfilled each year. So get accepted shouldn't be too difficult.
I'd say give it a try & good luck. |

| yes drjtrekker, why stay away from China? Im currently teaching ESL in another country saving decent coin but not relatively happy here, and was thinking of going to China next to learn the language + change of pace. Is China's job market oversaturated with NETs or something? |
