Yes, it is an issue with (possibly assessed) assignments.
Also, another thing to add about the world laughing at China. News stories on the BBC are probably laughing at the fact that China is blocking it. Ignoring something doesn't always make it go away. He will still get the award, and the world will know. |
They are indeed.
I am watching BBC News right now and the link from the anchor man to the weatherman a short while ago was, "And now for the live and un-censored weather..." |

BBC 'World' News is what is available on satellite and cable here. The actual BBC 'News' channel is available on line. There is a big difference between the two channels. IE: The latter is the one that is broadcast in the UK and includes segments for regional news and weather. |

I actually think on these kind of issues, they dont care much for what the rest of the world thinks. Their biggest concern is 'social harmony' and whatever they feel maintains that, is what they go with. And to be fair ... it seems to be working for them.
Its the students in the UK who are bashing up the police, destroying buildings, throwing paint and breaking windows on Prince Charles' car, whilst Chinese students are studying for CETs, idolising Yao Ming, and saying how wonderful their country is, and what bright futures they have. |

No, not short periods - they have been continually blocked since lunchtime Thursday. Still blocked now. |

TV working fine for me as well.
Not sure why the BBC website has been singled out for being blocked (when many other similar news sites are available) but would hazzard a guess that the article the other day which attempted to detail the contents of the infamous 'C harter 08' might not have been the smartest of things to do.

| I've been following Al Jazeera since the BBC was cut off. AJ has an article about the NP, but nowhere near as much as the BBC had before the the axe was brought down. Not sure if that's because Al Jazeera is being leant on or because it finds the controversy to be of little note in comparison to other news stories. |

It must have been those British lads and lassies in disguise walking the streets protesting Japan a month or so ago here then. They tipped over cars, broke store windows and vandalized shops, started fires in the streets. More serious events were planned, but before they could be carried out most of the Uni's in town got locked down. Some even had armed guards standing at the gates in response - but I bet you didn't catch that bit of things on CCTV news. There was also a Uni student murdered in his dorm here last week with his roommate still hospitalized in serious condition.
Not airing all of your dirty laundry isn't necessarily a bad thing, but refusing to acknowledge its existence doesn't make it any less real. |

Deng told them to keep opening up but when you are gone so is your voice.
Some people just can not do things without being told in their face. Its a wonder that the ports are still open.......
