Nowhere do I see any attempt by OP to get to speak to a current or ex FT at this school.
This is part of the check out process which is mentioned everywhere on this site. If the employer is cagey about such contact, then the alarm bells should sound.
Looks like pretty standard FE contract terms - although if this location is cold and you're going to be around over the winter holiday - check if the school-supplied central heating is going to be 'on'?
If as is likely ie 'not on', then you are going to be paying for all the heating.
Also, is the power usage averaged out or each month being standalone?
If averaged out, your low-use months will contribute to covering your high-use months.
Overall nickpellat has it sussed in my view.
A state owned college is a better place to get your China initiation than a language school for example. |

A state college is probably a bettter choice for the reason that one doesn't have to pay so much attention to entertaining the students, although it's still opened up to much abuse in a sense of academic support, unclear employment agreement, evaluation process, visa attachments, and then there is the students factor in.

If you are serious about accepting this contract, why not ask the college for the contact details of a current teacher there? Only he or she will know what's what. Terms in contracts are so often irrelevant to the conditions you meet when you take up the job.
But, if you really don't like a contract term, then negotiate it out, or suggest a different wording. |
OP, I'd follow up on this. It's just about the best you could do. However, take a note that the teacher contact there, if any, should be taken carefully too. We're not all honest, are we? |

| I had a friend who taught at Baotou Teacher's College in the early 2000s and he enjoyed teaching there. |
