Hello all. Just got back from the ECC seminar. It was quite thorough and as others have noted the grammar test seemed to be quite difficult.

The demonstration was fun as most of us participating seemed to get along pretty well.

Should hear yay or nay in a couple weeks.

It'll be 'yay' don't worry about it, there is a huge ELT exodus going on as we speak. In a few months time, they are going to be accepting anyone who is willing to come.

Thank you for the vote of confidence. Sort of a sad set of conditions to obtain a position though! I would certainly still like to go, trusting that they would not intentionally send me into harms way. Cool

They would be commiting business suicide and would have to face the wrath of most western English speaking countries if they did. I doubt any company would intentionally send you into danger. Very Happy

Well it turned out to be a nay unfortunately. I was told that they would keep my information on file. So maybe I actually passed the grammar test?

I plan to start trying to improve my qualifications by possibly obtaining a CELTA certification and doing some related volunteer work.

Anyone have any success stories where they were contacted down the road when new positions opened up?

Thanks to all for their input.
