| Tongue piercings aren't that bad. I got mine done, wasn't so bad. I got it done first in Spain, then took it out after a year and got it redone it China. |

On the other hand, one could clain the body piercing is "all the rage," so by piercing yourself, you're just conforming to the trends of Western society.
But, by not piercing, one is not pushing the bar to be different, either. |
You just have to go farther with your body alterations. Like this:

Uh, very... interesting photo there, Steiner.
I thought that the tongue was the quickest-healing of all of the commonly pierced body parts. I suppose it can be quick-healing and still hurt like hell, though.
I don't like pain either. I had to go into a piercing place several years after the initial piercing to have my belly ring changed. The thought of unscrewing it and doing it myself just makes me too queasy. And hooooo boy, when it gets snagged on clothes...

| I had my nipple pierced before and liked it, though I was thinner in those days. Doubt i'll go to China with any piercings though I guess i'm going to get stared/laughed at enough just because of the copious amounts of hair on my chest, having a bar through my nipple would just explode their minds I should think! |

A word of warning.
For the ME any visible tattoo or body piercing is a total no-no.
Earrings are okay for women but not for men.
So if you have a bone through your nose, remove it, or stay away from the ME ! |

Hey, Denise, ya wanna see how they split a tongue?
Looks like you have to have as many arms as Shiva just to be a tongue splitter. |

Gadzooks, man!!!!
What a cool party favor, though--a forked tongue. Guaranteed to impress the ladies. (Ooops, I don't mean that in that way...)

I used to have a bunch - it was a phase, and I got over it in a few years and have since removed all but the two in my ears (one in each).
I used to have four more in my ears, one in my nose, one in my belly button, and my lingual frenulum (the webbing underneath my tongue) pierced (I kind of wish I would've kept that one, I liked it best). I still have the scars from my belly button and nose rings though
No tattoes though, I'm too fickle to get something so permanent (I just got holes in my body instead) |

One tattoo of Michigan J Frog on my inner right ankle.

| I had my belly button pierced when I was in university because a guy I was dating said he thought it was sexy. The peircing lasted slightly longer than the relationship. My (now) husband helped me remove the damned thing one night. It never did heal properly. It was always uncomfortable and itchy and weepy. Still have a scar. No emotional ones though. I just look at my belly button and laugh about the folly of youth. |

Dear Celeste,
"I just look at my belly button and laugh about the folly of youth."
Presumably, that's a belly laugh.
