You will not "end up empty-handed"--but you may have to sort through an extra layer of less-than-desirable employers to find a good match. |

Getting rejected for your ethnicity may be a blessing in disguise, as some have pointed out. I am a white male, and might be looked on favorably by some of the very people who would discriminate against you. But, if I knew you had received that treatment, I would not wish to work for them either. |
