Print five different possible sample documents and take them to the PSB and ask them to pick one. When they have, send that document to your old school and get them to stamp it and send it back. |

Send this to your boss in Shenyang.
He should translate it in Chinese.
Stamp it.
Send it to you by EMS/Courier.
This is to certify that ABC,passport number-0000 has worked with us from 2.3.10 to 2.3.11.He does not owe anything to us/school.He can work where ever he likes.

Why would they have the form in English? What we have been sending has been in Chinese and they didn't accept it. What makes you think they will accept a Chinese document based on something an English teacher wrote up?
Come on now, they have got to have the real deal in Chinese. Are they that inept they can't handover a form to my school in Beijing or the place in Shenyang provide one for my old school?
I can't believe the process is solved by a foreign teacher writing up something and then having it translated to Chinese. |

It is not a form. There is NO form involved. It is just a letter.
Also,it is given to you by your school.School means the HR department NOT an individual. This letter requires no signature.
Just the clearance and STAMP.They love stamps.Don't they? |

In China, these kinds of things can frustrate the hell out of us. Our negative approach may become another obstacle in solving such issues then. So, stay clear!

Here is my professional view of this situation. First, make sure your visa is valid (perhaps go to PSB), and then ask for the exact document you are required to submit. I mean, the name of it. |
Ok, so I don't go to Entry Exit Bureau? I go to PSB? These are not the same areas, right?
You are saying go to Beijing PSB or Shenyang PSB? I assume Beijing PSB, and my current school has done this three times already. They will go again tomorrow morning.
When I ask my current school they just say they told the school in Shenyang and that I should ask the school owner to "ok" it. I am getting frustrated because I don't speak Chinese and I don't know "exactly" what is needed. |
First, the PSB, where FTs in Beijing get their visas, is the place that may be able to tell you whether your visa is valid or cancelled. If it were cancelled it'd mean your last employer did not like your departure from the school. My advice is to do it ASAP, or you may face some rather large sums of fines.
Second, find out what document is needed. Whichever office wants the document should be able to tell you what document is requested.

That's not such a bad suggestion. However, i am not sure about the number of these documents that may be needed. Let's guess; Release Letter, Recommendation Letter, Foreign Expert Termination Letter...i can't think of any other letters now.
Again, OP, keep your head up! Smile when you are at any office in this country! And, don't jump on the first plane, bus or train back to Shenyang yet! |

To transfer your visa, you need a release letter. In other words,it is a termination letter, stating that you have completed your contract and no issues etc
The recommendation/reference letter is always in English which lets the potential employer know about your teaching abilities. |

I wouldn't suggest that he do it for everything, but if an ex-employer isn't providing a particular document in the right format then I would want to make it as easy as possible for them to fix this. Writing it oneself makes it as easy as possible for them. I am not suggesting this because I want to be nice, but just because this is the quickest and easiest way to get this done.
OP, I wasn't referring to any specific examples, unless the PSB or your new employer provide you with these then you are going to have to rely on friends to help you draft something. |

My current school has gone to the Beijing PSB three times already. They are going again tomorrow morning. So far, my visa is ok but I need to show some proof I am finished in Shenyang so I can transfer it.
In addition to this, I asked the school to ask them if I can transfer to an L visa. I am not doing this so I can, but I figure if they say yea no problem, then my visa hasn't been cancelled. Can they check my visa status in Beijing even though I got it in Shenyang?
The reason why I left to Beijing was that the school in Shenyang got a replacement teacher and she was in the hospital. She needed an apartment close to the school, and I lived right next door to it. So, I helped them and if the school was pissed at me leaving to Beijing, they wouldn't have paid me the rent money I gave the landlord. Also, I had a guitar a student bought in Korea for me, and I went up to Shenyang to pick it up also. When I got there students surrounded me and played with the guitar. It's was on the up and up as far as I could tell. Last week the owner and I talked on the phone and there were no animosities towards each other. We talked about another teacher who is getting married in September. He also left the school, before I did. Possibly I will go if the distance isn't an issue. |

This is not an issue of my current school hiring me. They are already satisfied as far as what we agreed I should do. I have been here since mid-April. They don't need to see anything in English.
What they need is something in Chinese they can bring to the PBS in Beijing to get my visa transferred.
They already brought a letter signed and stamped by the original school, but Beijing said it wasn't official. |

I am thinking it just had the school's stamp on it, but Beijing is probably asking for Shenyang to stamp it. Last week, they were supposed to do this, but the person who we thought was going to go didn't. Someone else went and they probably had no idea what we have been trying to do. They could have just said, "We want to release this teacher", but they didn't have anything signed by the owner of the school. Right now, I understand he is in Korea. Hopefully, he will return tomorrow. |

The letter should be from SHENYANG.You don't need a special person to sign it.Ask the HR in Shenyang.Mine didn't have a signature. It was like a one line notice with a big red stamp.
Do you want to see my letter?PM me your email if you like. |
