The $300/500 is the fixed amount Yabanci Polis want proof of.
Brits etc have to calculate how much that is in GBP/euros/TL the day (before) they go to the emniyet and so it fluctuates according to the exchange rate at the time
Thinking about it, it's a potentially confusing situation for people who've just arrived. I spose I've just got used to second and third guessing situations and regulations and don't rely on any logic I may have used elsewhere  |

Thanks to everyone for this helpful information. Moonshadow...I'm not sure you don't have me mixed up with someone else, as I don't think we've ever corresponded. It's nice to be communicating with you now though and it's thoughtful of you to want to know how someone you've talked to on Dave's doing.  |
