Cart before the horse, IMO.
Also, you will probably be happier if you have the proper training/education first, instead of trying to play catch-up. Think about it. There is no rush.
What's that old saying?
The only place where success comes before work is in the dictionary. |
Point taken, friend. |
Well done, Adventurer! Not everyone has the ability to respond to critical advice graciously. These boards have many examples of posters who become belligerent and ugly when their plans are criticized, or they receive advice not to their liking. |

Thanks GoodStory, I appreciate that.
I certainly want to do it the right way, so despite my desire to do it sooner (while forgoing a qualification) I am happy to take advice from those who have been in the field and immersed this endeavor for some time. To ignore such advice would be selling myself short and I'd prefer to make as many friends in this community as possible. Squabbling would only hinder me from reaching that goal. |

I remember one time, there was a guy with a BA in literature and a MA in some English arts related subject, a CELTA, with volunteer ESL experience and posted on this board if he could come to China on those qualifications and yet, there were still those on this board saying "You're not qualified, you need 2 years experience"
Dude,
you're sadly already more qualified than at least 3/4's of the ESL market in China with an AA degree. |
