id like to open a school in Japan somewhere.....sometime in the future...

There is no way in hell id buy into a franchise ever.....quickest way to get poor imo.

Find a nice location with a couple of rooms upstairs with a kitchen and bathroom.....and live in it also.....1 rent pays both

Build up your customers 1 by one and really look after them....word will get around.....do some networking etc and hand out some home made flyers with discount coupons or free trial lesson etc

But before all that Im trying to get in with the Saudi Arabian Oil company for a bit and save up....salary is awsome compared to most places.....you just have to reside in Saudi.....which could be very boring.....no pretty Japanese girls...

That's the ticket. A lot of those places are near by me. The old stores with an apartment on the 2nd floor. A lot of them are fairly close to the station as well. If you are willing to renovate, you can rent for cheap imho.

Yea in regards to bad press, the majority of it seems to come from one dude who obviously felt very wronged and really put effort in doing some damage. And a few other people who do appear credible. When I come to Japan I am definitely going to put in some leg work meeting with owners unannounced.

As for opening my own, this is definitely on the table and I have thought of getting one of those type of apartments. I also like the idea of using a scheduling service of some type. Are you or anyone you know doing this? I would definitely be interested in having a look at it.

Good luck with the Saudi gig. I've been there and wouldn't want go there single, just not much to do for nightlife. Definitely no pretty Japanese girls. The cash is very good though.
