Ah, nolefan, I quite share your view - paradise when the French cook, the Germans rig all the machines, and the Swiss manage money, while the Brits police the realm.
And, of course, I know that a catastrophe happens if you confuse one or the other nationality.

BUt: where do the yankees come into the picture?

Yeah, we wouldn't want anyone from New England in the mix. Wink

For the record, calling a Midwesterner a Yankee would be like calling a Londoner a Geordie.
