Cheeky. Was writing in a hurry because I had a class to go to, the delete key got away from me I suppose. A message board full of mostly disgruntled anonymous English instructors has got to be one of the most error correction prone places on Earth, annoyingly so. |

ADVERTISMENT

Am I the only one who is happy with this company?
Been with them three years, I have an Iqama. I've gotten paid every month on time. I took the housing allowance and live in a nice place. I really only deal with them lately once a month for the pay, and the last two months I literally have walked into KSU, got my money and have been out of there within three minutes.
TBH I'm evening suspecting that people are trashing the company so it has trouble recruiting and therefor makes their jobs more secure... Because really, this is KSA and a company can only be as efficient as the country it resides in. That's not a real saying or anything but you understand that a lot of the problems reside in this country being butt backwards. |
Have a nice day!

I know people working for Edex who are happy.
Please, this is KSA. Be aware. If you expect to carry on regardless, then think again and narrow your job search. |

That's absurd, people trashing EdEx to keep their jobs secure! Most of the people trashing EdEx left! What jobs do they have to keep secure? Also, I note that you work at KSU, which I understand is a vast improvement over PNU.
Anyway the point should be, if one MUST work in KSA is there a way (other than working for a recruiting firm, which as far as I can tell all suck) to do it that makes life in this very challenging country somewhat bearable?
English teachers are generally at the bottom of the heap, but it seems even more so in KSA which is not a culture that places great emphasis on literacy. I had one student that proudly insisted she had never read a book and had no intentions of ever doing so. In a way this is understandable given that all religion and culture are the same and thus why would they have any need to learn anything other than religious teachings? This hardly makes your job easier. |

Thankfully I do not work at KSU. The people who I'm referring to do.
Lady, another friend just got laid off from a Arabian Gulf job. Reputable recruiter/contracter and long term employer.
Like I said, if you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen. The world doesn't owe you a living and high salaries are paid for a reason. |

"The world doesn't owe you a living and high salaries are paid for a reason..."
How rude and irrelevant. I don't believe I said, or even inferred anywhere that it does. There simply was a limit to what I could or will do for money (unlike some people) and I chose to leave, so again you're closing the barn doors after the horse by telling me "if you can't stand the heat get out of the kitchen." I think the heat has addled your thinking.
End of story. |
