Dear EnglishDoYouSpeakIt,
How come you haven't gotten yourself a P.O. Box?

Probably the same reason it took me a year to get a license and two years to get a bank account. Nothing is easy except doing nothing. |

How do you fit an air conditioner in a P.O. box John?

And how cool do they keep your apartment anyway?
But to answer your question, OP: 100% Pure Maple Syrup. Yeah, they have the tiny little bottles at Tamimi, but for 35-40 SAR. Bringing a couple of the jugs from Costco would be worth it for me but that's just a personal taste.
And I'd agree with bringing Vitamins and supplements. I just tried to have some shipped in from but they were sent back by Customs. They are way too expensive here.
I wouldn't really bother with much else.

Download Kindle books before coming to KSA. I haven't been able to download any Kindle e-books here. They've blocked my account because of my IP address (which is in KSA).
Ironically, I've taken stuff OUT OF KSA to bring to other countries b/c it wasn't available there (i.e., IKEA furniture, IKEA curtain rods, etc.).

Wouldn't a VPN overcome this? Use a US based VPN (or UK if you are from there).

| others have reported torrents work fine. Really, a loaded external hdd will keep you going for years anyway. Like I have one file that is the Booker award winners for the last 30 years, or another of every Pulitzer Prize winning book for 50 years. You don't have to wait to get to Saudi to take that with you. Secondly, if you know someone outside KSA at a pinch they can download a book for you and email it to you. So are you going or staying aridion? You still have a few more months to see which way the wind blows? |

At the moment, it seems like I am going Rainbowprof. I want to start putting money aside as I have a few plans of my own. Hopefully in a few years I will have some cash to do something with and also move to another international school in the region, or in SE Asia. |

Yeah, well at the moment I am a bit snowed under with the PGCE. Haven't got the time to think about courses. However, I might try it out after I finish at the end of June. |
