This is pretty much the way to go. As others have stated, most public institutions in China are no good for personal development because quite simply nobody in the administration usually cares, and the class sizes in public schools are way too big to effectively teach [oral] English.
Find a private language school that actually cares about teaching quality, and don't take things personally when given feedback. |

It's really not that laughable. I do care about that for my job. |
But most training schools only care about profits, so finding one that "cares" about teaching quality might be difficult. |
