I will be sending mine to the local (francophone) school. Canada probably isn't an option for you but it works well for me.

I have to agree with tttompatz up you qualifications. I'm also married to an Indonesian and we both wanted to stay in Indonesia for the long term. I realised I'd never be able to afford for any child we may have to go to a decent school here. A large number of the local public schools are awful and the internationals beyond an esl teachers reach.

We made the decision to return to the UK so I could get the qualifications to work in an International school. Now I'm back in Indonesia after 3 years at home and I easily tripled my salary and any future child would get a free
education. You need money for everything in Indonesia and it's not getting cheaper. The increased salary alone makes it beneficial to up y

Sorry the iPhone cut off what I was saying. The increase salary alone is a great be benefit of upping your qualifications. However having a masters in TEFL seems to be of little use in Indonesia in terms of getting a better job.
