| True, and amusing to me, what the Scot mentioned. I taught previous to KFUPM, in the states, south america, asia and the middle east, in Emirates U, and at SQ U in Oman. Each, job a little bit different. The salary at KFUPM was good and never was late, as i remember during my time there 2005-9, and I was retired from there at 64.5. The working hours were few, and there were many vacations. Housing and medical care was good, Compared to British Aerospace, the salary was lower, but probably the type of students were better to teach at KFUPM. Teaching there you could make friends with professional colleagues from all of the native English speaking countries in the world, and find that they have taught almost everywhere, in the world. As mentioned, there are some goods and bads of every job. I wish my ex-colleagues well, who were there, or are still there. from my "shelter from the storm", well south of the border, presently at 26.9912 S, 48.6354 W, in "capivara" country. |

Well, hope you're enjoying retirement and not getting too bored! This lifestyle of overseas TEFL can be addicting for many. |
