My contract also has no annual flights or end of service gratitude payment.
Recruiters have the upper hand in this "bait and switch" game. |
The recruiter/employer is required to follow Omani Labour Law:
Article (56):
The employer shall be obliged to repatriate a non-Omani worker to his country upon termination of the work relationship with him unless the sponsorship of such worker is transferred to another employer. It the employer declines to do so, the relevant directorate shall repatriate the worker at the expense of the Government and revert to the employer for recovery of the amount paid. |

Thanks MuscatGary....this helps....
My problem is what I can do if my employer doesn't settle my final dues and refuses to pay them upon my repatriation. Can the law help me out in such circumstances or if I take the case to the labor court it will be like slow death and nothing more. |

I think the main problem is that the Labour Courts can take a long time and you have to stay until it's resolved, however I've heard that the court is fair to ex-pats but I have no personal experience of it. |

Thanks mate. This is frustrating though and seems not worth the fight. |
