I love how "cost" is brought up. We have spent billions in this Iraq thing and are getting ready to forgive more billions in debt. $1.5 million seems like peanuts and I personally feel is worth the expense.

Kevin, Kevin, Kevin! You have been out of the country, thus "the loop," far too long. Budgets are tight all over. My children's school supply list included toilet paper this year - not the customary box of tissues, but toilet paper.

My county is going through budget talks right now. The public is furious. The choices are cut the allocation to the road commission (which means rural roads will be neglected), cut the allocation to the ambulance service, or cut library funds. Invariably all three departments will share the axe, however the axe is mighty big this year. If this county were forced to do a recount, it would likely come close to bankrupt. The reason money is so short is ... state and federal revenues aren't coming down the pipe like they used to.

It's bad all over.

What will you do after Bush wins the election?

This is what he'll be doing:

That can't be real...

I will be:
-staying in Japan as long as I can
-trying to get my husband out of the military
-praying for my parents/friends/chihauhua/etc trapped back in the States
-hoping when Bush drops the bombs on the rest of the world, I will be one of the first to die and not have to live through the nuclear/anthrax/etc after effects.
