Caper - just to venture off topic, has there been some recent consensus that Lao Tzu was actually a person? I seem to recall that Tao te Ching was generally considered to be a collection of writings that span several centuries. I reread it from time to time. It makes me laugh - in a good way Smile

Dave runs this place, so it's within his right to delete the threads that he sees fit to. I hope he doesn't do this, but since he emphasized job forum, my guess is that he got put off by the thread title and was upset that teachers were using this forum in a frivolous way.

Let's not take Dave's ESL for granted, eh?

Steve

Dear Capergirl,

While I agree with your position, I doubt that much of this is worth dignifying with a response.

Some of the people expressing their opinions in defence of student-teacher relationships have tried to do so in an honest and genuine way. Aramas, however, is supercilious at best and an arch-manipulator at worst.

I have to say I have been genuinely disappointed by the level of denial and defensiveness exhibited by many posters on threads about the responsibilities of a teacher toward their students.

Best wishes, Capergirl. You're a strong and positive person. Of course, that's very annoying to some !

Bet
