I've heard that by 2050, Hispanics will make up 50% of the US population. I think it can be both, depend on if people inter-marry. But soon, whites will be a minority.

You do realize that some people who are classified as Hispanics are white. If we use a more classical definition then the people from Latin America that are mixed would not be classified as Hispanic. They would be mixed i.e part native/part Caucasian or part African/part Caucasian. Furthermore do we really want to lump everyone from Latin American together. Then we would have to include people who are full blooded Japanese since they are from Latin America and speak only Spanish or Portuguese.

Hispanic from the Webster dictionary: 1. Spanish or Spanish and Portuguese

Many of these people are pure Caucasian just like the people from England, Germany etc. Hispanic originally meant people of Hispanic(from Spain or Portugal) origin but has seemed to encompass a broader definition these days to include all people who are from Latin America. So I don't understand how you are trying to tell me they will outnumber Caucasians when some of them are Caucasian.

p.s. I am assuming that by white you mean Caucasian

Ha, yeah that woman with the fro looks white. I am also very confused about the very hispanic woman who classifies herself as black. The one that is part African, Native American, and European

Of course, does anyone know about the one drop rule used during the slavery years in the U.S. If you were more than 1/8 black then you were considered black and a slave. You could be 7/8 white and still be condemed to slavery. Of course if you looked white you might be able to escape slavery.
