You have my sympathies OP. Maybe you should try a complaint with the blog/site and see if they can ban the IP. I apologize if this was suggested already.

My guess is that crazy lady = newmansome/Wlamar/helen/troll-of-the-week, or that person that made the OT thread about loud sex noises. Laughing

Completely believable.

I had a crazy colleague who posted trash talk on a forum in my name, mentioned the school, teachers, and the dean. She copied it, then deleted it. Then she presented the copy to the FAO. She and the (female) FAO had a non-traditional relationship which included weekend trips to neighboring cities.

I swear, it sounds like the crazy woman who is sticking it to you is the one who did the same thing to me. She would have been in China for about ten or so years by now. Her reason for doing this is to make others leave and (in her mind) make her indispensable to the school.

Is this woman a German with a British accent who is about fifty years old?

That would only worsen the problem for everyone involved.

In my six years in China I have not worked with any Chinese teachers that have caused any problems for me.
However, I have worked with several foreigners that were a royal pain in the arse.
I do not know if the OP's situation is true or not, but it is not at all difficult for me to believe.

I think most of you know that I've been here a while and I normally don't get into feeding trolls and try not to join arguments.
That said, I can tell you that I have seen the site Nicfishn is referring to and it is as he says. The poster on the site does use his name, the name of his school, and urges the city government to replace the FAO and most of the admin. S/he makes comments regarding his girlfriend and living situation that are obviously biased and reflect a disturbed person on a mission.
Several of the posters on the site do seem to have a remarkable similarity in screen-names, writing style, and syntax.

If I were in Nicfishn's situation I would also be hesitant to post a link as it reveals information the majority of us here would consider private and would possibly instigate a crossover troll battle.
I think that Nicfishn might consider posting the link if every registered member of Dave's agreed to provide their real name, employer, and intimate details of their personal relationships. Until then, I also think it is useless to open the door.

So can we concentrate on providing helpful ideas and try not to get sidetracked?

Posting the link on ESLcafe will increase the rank of the site in Google search as more and more of us visit the site and also because ESLcafe is a high traffic site (I am aware there are numerous other factors and it doesn't work exactly like that).

I do not recommend posting the link on ESLCAFE. The last thing the OP wants is for this to get even more attention, rank high in search engines and then end up being the first thing every future employer sees.

He came here for advice. This forum is supposed to be a place where people can come to ask questions from others who have already been through the same things. Over the years Dave's has been very valuable to me for that reason. However, there always seems to be someone who claims the OP is full of crap and must be lying. While I agree that probably happens sometimes, it usually makes for a good read nonetheless. So far there is nothing all that unbelievable about this.

At my last job the Canadian head teacher loved to create all kinds of drama and even accused two teachers of having sex in the restroom during their 4 minute break because, and I'll paraphrase, he heard feet shifting in one of the stalls and grunting. This almost resulted in those teachers being fired. He later claimed he liked to make stuff up just to: "keep everyone on their toes." He also claimed he liked to "stir up shit." (I only swore because I am quoting). There are sociopathic nuts out there. Sadly, some of these people end up with power over others. They ruin relationships and ruin people' experiences in Asia.

That's pretty awesome that they were able to do the deed in under 4 minutes in a toilet stall that has a squat toilet in it.

That's exactly why I added that. It wasn't possible. Plus, it takes about 30 seconds to get from your class room to the restroom and 30 seconds to get back. This left them with 3 minutes... And yet he still decided to accuse them of it. Later, both teachers were written up for other ficticious, yet more believable, reasons that he and the owner made up.

Eventually I quit because I couldn't handle working in such a poisonous environment.

I feel badly for the OP. I have some idea what it's like, but his situation seems more insane than what I went through.

I have TWO totally psycho teachers at my school.

One of them absolutely hates China and the Chinese and spews negativity in every sentence. Not just to me but to anyone that will listen. trashes China, the school, people - you name it. The worst part is if you meet him in a pub or restaurant he speaks so loud about how much he hates China that other people can easily hear and they turn around and look at him and whoever is with him.

The other teacher has done everything in the world you can think of and knows everyone in the world and has 6 phd and masters degrees. He dominates every conversation and butts in when you are speaking to others. And he is a psychopath.

We had a guy just like that. Bloody embarrassing to be anywhere near them when they go off, which is just about always.

Sounds like you've done all you can, op. Personally I'd avoid contact with this woman without a neutral 3rd party present, or your phone recording the interaction. Stay the good guy in all this and keep us updated.

It's really not too hard to believe. A lot of foreign teachers are crazy, especially ones who have been here for 10+ years. I mean, just look at this passive-agressive lunacy:

Craziness. Not as bad but I once moved to a new school and one of the foreign teachers took an immediate dislike to me. Why? He wanted to be the only unmarried white guy there. He pretty much claimed this in his own words.

Capt Lugwash wrote:

Laziness and Guanxi. The woman has been there 10 years. The management are most likely too lazy to deal with the problem, and find it easier to just get rid of the new guy.
