Wait, I forgot to add: and access to some of the most beautiful women in the world. Actually, I almost included that as one of the "reasons" in my original post!
Now, having majored in German and having lived in Germany (while mastering Spanish on the side, for the reasons mentioned in the original post), one would think I'm biased and say, "German women are the most beautiful in the world," but I must say: While there ARE some (perhaps many) blue-eyed, blonde-haired "princesses" in Germany, just as many German women are (I'm sorry to say) ugly, or just average-looking. In other words, the average German woman isn't much prettier than the average American woman. After all, many American women are of German descent, so it's only natural that there would be a lot of overlap.
I think Hispanic/Spaniard/Brazilian women get my vote for most beautiful. I know this forum is supposed to be about the Spanish language being the lingua franca of the world (in an alternate universe, that is), but I just couldn't resist mentioning the women! |

Dear wangdaning,
Well, some likely do - as a second language.
Regards,

Well, I, for one, would love to marry a Hispanic woman in the future. I'm one of those American men who wants a foreign wife because he's had bad luck with American women. I'm certainly not alone; MANY American men are in my same boat. However, this is supposed to be a thread about ESL, not about dating. There are a plethora of dating forums that I and others could use to discuss topics like this. But I just wanted to clarify, and that's the last I'll say about that.
Also, I am very well aware that Brazilian women speak Portuguese, and not Spanish, as evidenced by my Macau thread from a few months back. Sorry, I should have been more clear. |

Silly, silly, silly.
All women from all locales are beautiful. Why limit oneself to one area?
Anyway, I digress.
What is interesting is that English has become the new lingua...franca.
See what I did there?
In my mind, there are five "international" languages. All of the rest can merely be considered to be (strong) regional languages.
Warm regards,

No group of women is better or worse than the other. I brush off such statements of "one group of women being better than the other" and find that they can miss the mark--as you have indicated, it simply adds up to bad luck and really nothing else, no offense meant. One can have bad luck with any group of women and it isn't limited to just one group and not another.
Good luck with it all, 1492!
Warm regards,
