that's shocking. I've never known the Brits to drink to much or start fights, and I've never seen a British woman talk trash or participate in fights ( )...but, yeah, we didn't and won't ever see the whole story...like the Brits bar bills that night, like they would likely produce in the US...but 68 is considered "elderly" here, and that counts for a lot, even though we both know there are plenty of 68 year olds that need a country ass-whipin'. I'll stick with my original sentence: 2 years each. |
If you bet the over or under; you did not win your bet. Two years, just handed down by a HH Court. No chance of parole....That is about as close to justice as we are going to see. I think everyone of us can step back and learn something from this...about ourselves, about Thailand, about travelling, about drunken places where large numbers of drunks are....Many losers and no winners in this case, whose reverberations will be felt for years. Best wishes to the Brits on their recovery. http://pattayaone.net/pattaya-news/224887/breaking-news-cowards-jailed-hua-hin-attack-british-pensioners/ |

Most Thais are very kind and genuinely friendly, the exception being found in Tuk Tuk drivers. Thais are very conservative and usually are not interested in farangs, so a really friendly Thai that approaches you in public is out to take your money. You do not want to mess with Thais, they will get even, usually underhandedly but sometimes brutally if they lose face. The sad thing is there is a serious criminal element that is becoming more and more difficult to avoid even if you're honest in Thailand. When you come to Thailand you have to do the best you can with rude demanding taxi drivers, avoid Tuk Tuk drivers at all costs and in general only associate with Thai professionals and staff at hotels, no other Thais. Thailand is full of scams and if you talk with Thais other than professionals and staff you already have opened yourself up to some kind of trouble. |
