The fact that School A defended its rights as the 'offeror of record' suggests that they are going ahead.
If there is an issue of 'non-native' status (birth, first language or degree) I suspect a bureaucratic hiccup rather than something occurring in the school. |

Actually, I am considered a NES and there is no issue with respect to the place of birth as my degree is something most people don't possess. Having said that, you're right. School A defended its rights and they did go ahead.
I must admit, you understood my intentions better than anyone else. So, thank you for your concise but to-the-point answers. |

"I want to offer several hypotheses on why I think that Abe might have hit a brick wall."
I am puzzled as to why you would say this. In fact, the opposite is true. We are having two schools fighting over me. School B wants me but school A does not want to release me. That can hardly be construed as hitting a brick wall.
"Thailand is probably the least racist."
I am afraid that is not true. In fact, Thailand is notorious for being very racist. I witnessed for years how they openly discriminate against the Filipinos, to name one ethnicity. Even though, some of them were truly great educators from whom I learned a lot.
In my previous school the owner of our school once told a senior Filipino teacher that she should listen to our Head of the English Department because in Thailand she is just a second class teacher. And in another school, as head of the English Department, I had received clear instructions not to hire Indian citizens. I was told that parents pay a lot of money and they don't want to see Indian faces. The funny part was: this guy himself had studied and lived in the States for over 10 years. I don't like it... but I cannot escape the fact that I cannot change their culture. Hence, I complied.
So, I think it is fair to say that discrimination is systematic in Thailand and they don't even try to hide it. So, Thailand is definitely not the least racist country in this region. Definitely not.
"To be fair, Abe did mention a school in Guangzhou which I believe I may have identified"
Sorry, I never mentioned Guangzhou. I am afraid that is not the school but it doesn't matter anyways because I didn't go for it.
"I say may be and not "will be", concerns about Abe's use of the English language. In that case, he might consider a lengthy interview with someone from the school."
LOOOL No, that won't be a problem as I am trained to interpret simultaneously for E.U. ministers between 3 European languages.
"they definitely prefer to avoid having to tell the truth"
True. They avoid it even more than Thai people. In Thailand, in my cases they don't even realize that they are being racist.
"Those are just my thought after having thought through this carefully with my own China experience in hand."
Thank you. |

Anybody knows how I can block someone who is harassing me by pm?
I have been arguing with this Marcos Cisneros fellow and he is really crossing the line with me. He is ticked off because I told him to read properly before giving irrelevant answers and lashing out here and in private. One needs to read his last post to see that he has ulterior motives and his post has nothing to do with the topic at hand.
People come here looking for advice. Not to be barked at or to be abused verbally. I have already put him in his place in private and I am more than willing to disclose everything but frankly I would rather just block him and get on with my life. Most of you have been gracious enough to assist me with your valuable comments.
Now read his last pm to me and judge for yourself:
"Firstly, as I said, I do not respond to Iranian threats.
You may hold a Canadian passport but you are not Canadian born. This is all so evident. Your English is good but it is far from perfect. It is just a good second language level.
And the schools in China fighting over you as write .. they are third and fourth level institutions where most normal, translate that as white folk, would never work. It is like fighting between a dust bin and a garbage bin.
You have left your footprints all over the Web and it was easily enough done to determine whom you are.
Let me be frank, with malice towards none. I simply loathe Iran. It is a nation of thugs. We all remember how they overran the United States Embassy, how they mistreat their minorities, and how they export terror to the world. I will not be pushed around by them nor by you.
And frankly, you were never a moderator on this Board, that is for sure. That is clear. You simply do not have the mettle.
So I will leave you to your Ayatollah Khameni type huffing and puffing and to all of your Allah Akhbars. And frankly, I think you should be placed on the United States no fly list, as least not be able to enter the United States. I smell terrorist here and I am going to share my concerns, with persons far greater than this Board.
Check your Twitter account for my letter to Homeland Security".

I will definitely update you on the outcome. I think people can learn from my strategy, my mistakes and other people's comments. |
