HKgirl,
Your comments that people here don't know what they are talking about are funny.
What if, she arrives and tries to apply for hte visa here?
How long is the visa processing time?
Just how long is her probabtionary period?
As for moving around between schools, what if there are no vacancies at the other branches? What about the Goverment requirment for KG's to have 50% QKGT by this year?
All I can say about the KG in question is, I see them advertising a lot.
As for her taking on private tutoring, that would be working illigally. |

One thing I hope you realise is that Batyndale is actually just Ludwig using another moniker. Sigh. |
Flattery will get you nowhere.
Actually, I'm not sure how to take this unfounded accusation. Perhaps it's best left for discussion in a separate thread. I have noted that you and Ludwig have had words before, however, that does not give you the right to cast quasi-paranoid aspersions in my direction. Sorry to disappoint you but I am just badtyndale (sometimes a bad badtyndale, granted) and no other. |

Rosy:
Don't confuse ego with experience. The majority of the respondents to your postings do give you good advice, albeit with varying degrees of wit, sarcasm, or twisted humour. Respondents are reliant upon the information that you provide and unless there is more to this than has been given so far then it is extremely difficult to offer further encouragement to you in your endeavours. As such, and at the risk appearing 'negative' yet again, I reiterate that it is in your best interests to be circumspect. |

I thank everybody who has given an opinion and helpful advise, I really do appreciate it.
I've booked my ticket for Jan '05 and I'm ready to fly! I'll post another msg here when I've had time to decide whether this was a good move or not. |

Did you sign a contract yet??? Do you know which school you will be at? BTW, the Tin Shui Wai school now has 3 new teachers since I last chatted to you...so I'm guessing you will be at the other one. Did they tell you where you will be placed? |

Rosie,
If the KG is serious then they have plenty of time to send you a contract and organise a visa for you. Why aren't they prepared to do this? You've been warned. |

Well, I've been in Hong Kong 2 months this week and am LOVING IT! School is great, the kids are fantastic and I already have a great network of friends both western and chinese. It was the best move I could've made.
So to all you non-believers out there, I did it, I'm here and I'm only leaving when they kick me out of the country next year! |

Rosy;
Glad HK is working out for you and that it is better than you thought it would be. Amazing place, this little place of ours, really.
