There seems to be a different mentality with regard to producing textbooks in the UK and the US. In the UK they tend to be one or two people's visions, whilst in the US they tend to be more of a committee thing.
The UK method appears to work better for the teachng of languages and English. On the other hand I find US school Math and Science textbooks vastly superior to their UK equivalents, at leaast up to Grades 8 or 9. |
