Hmmmm....
I was born in Canada...my father is of Arabic descent...my mother's native language is French...I grew up in a trilingual environment...I live and work in Japan...I now speak Japanese as well....WHAT THE HELL AM I....? ....HUMAN!!
For me that about says it all.

This post is deep and meaningful, thought provoking. I once asked a psychotherapist why I felt so much more 'at home' in my adopted country. She said that she once had a rose bush which she planted by the wall of her house, and it just didn't grow very well, so she moved it to another part of the garden, and it blossomed and bloomed.
Just because we were born and raised in one part of the world, doesn't mean that that part is necessarily our spiritual 'home'. We may find that we, too, 'blossom' when we go elsewhere. |
