Roger, I almost always agree with you except when I don't. This is one of the times that I almost agree with you!
Yes, the Chinese players get what they want at our expense. You can, I can, the people reading this, too, can get the merc or beamer. You just have to have your conscience removed. Take what you can get, manipulate, lie, cheat, go against our western grain and bs to no end. You. too, can have the penthouse suite and fine cars. Those that can, do. Those that can't, teach. Ouch.

Damn my conscience and morality!

Cheers!

Sinobear,
I am not here because I need a job. This idea - having a job in a country I had begun to like - struck me rather late, and at first I din't think teaching was the line I would want to follow. It was the other way around - these guys came for me!

And, eventually, I asked them:
WHY DO YOU WANT TO HIRE FOREIGN NATIONALS FOR YOUR CREAKY OLD SOCIALIST EDUCATION SYSTEM?
And the snug answer:

WE WANT TO LEARN FROM YOU WESTERNERS HOW TO TEACH FOREIGN LANGUAGES!

Remember, sinobear, you are here because someone can "prove" to the relevant authorities that ONLY YOU can do this job, no local person can...
In the West too, foreigners need to prove their usefulness before they are granted the right to live and work there.

What other reason might the Chinese officially have to hire foreigners when they have so many unemployed???
