Lvov is in Ukraine.
But was a part of Poland before World War II.
Mongolia certainly can get cold. I was watching BBC World yesterday and I saw that the high today in the capital is -24C.
The winters of 1998 and 1999 were terrible as a lot of livestock froze to death.
There is work available in Mongolia. Back in 1999, I was considering a job there. The recruiter was in Denver, but the negotiations took so long I decided to go to Poland instead.
Buryatia is a part of Russia, and the Buryats are related to the Mongols.
Ulan Ude is the capital of Buryatia.
The Mongolian script is based on Russian, but has three extra letters.
Many people from Mongolia work and live in Irkutsk, Russia.
Many Buryats do well in English.
And there are Mongolians who perform well in Japanese sumo wrestling. The current champ is Asashoru. |
