I swear, man, you're a genius. I don't have to write student evaluations here in Russia, Allah be praised, but how many hours did I waste in Thailand struggling to think of something nice to say about students who were completely identical in their total lack of enthisiasm and ability in studying English?

I had my own formula of sorts. "_________" is a ______ student who has superior skills at ________ and really enjoys ___________. Then I'd just randomly plug in names, adjectives, skills and classroom activities, in that order.

But your deal is much better, you're definitely getting a link on www.englishteacherx.com

Reading through these posts I've come to the conclusion that there two opposing camps who will ne'er meet:
The "holier-than-thou" brigade and the lazy b***ers who take home their crust for doing as little as possible.
Why not find out first of all from your superiors why this exercise is done at all.
Another thought has just crossed my mind: What is a degree certificate if not a written evaluation? Are all of those personalised with comments? Just the name and academic award, me thinks.

I've added a new section to the site. An "ESL Links" section.

http://esltool.com/links/

It's nothing too revolutionary, I'm just plugging into the ODP data.

I also subscribed to Google AdSense to generate some revenue to maintain the site, it's still not a profitable endeavour but I don't mind footing the bill in return for some of the great comments some you have sent me.

I figured I would also bump this thread up too for the newbies out there struggling with writing student evaluations. There have been a lot of people writing evaluations this month.

Thanks to all for visiting the site and I hope it's been useful for a lot of you!
