Actually, he did ask if I wanted to learn English, first blocking me on the sidewalk and shoving a business card into my face. I asked if he thought I needed to learn English, and offering me a job was his reply.

Seems there could be some demand in somewhere in Sultanahmet for that guy...

dmb, in the part of Canada I'm from, Newfoundland, some folks speak very interesting English. Example: I likes that new car ye bought.
or Stay where you are to til I comes where you are at.

It's easier to learn, actually: I likes, you likes, he likes...simple! Pity that I am not allowed to teach it this way!

In my memleket they say things like 'He lives out to River Road, go 100 foot past the old oak tree and hang a left, why, that old oak tree's been there since I was a stripling, we used to...(and so on)' and 'I gotta warsh the car then pick the squarsh a-ripenin'...
