Hi, my names PT and I've been an internet geek for 9 years now... However I only login socially and I never inhale... I can quit anytime I want...

The sad truth of it is that I am here because my online life is so much more fulfilling than my 'real' one Rolling Eyes

And of course the company is awesome. Wink

Well, hoping to get second job in the next few weeks and French classes start up again at the end of the month so maybe then I can claim to have a life...

PT

I started here because I wanted to answer a posted question. I began originally by just reading. After I answered that first question it was like I was sucked in. I kept answering questions, more and more every day. Recently I have been here just for the shear entertainment value.

I don't really know. A colleague pointed out that some positions linked on here had identical job descriptions to our own. Then I noticed the username as very familiar and was curious.

However more importantly, the sheep should check the price of the haircut before sitting down otherwise it may get fleeced.

Dave's ESL Cafe discussion forums are the best I've seen, for information, for entertainment value, and even for the interface and ease of use. (any slashdotters here? Slashdot used to have great humor, but they've gone downhill, and, interestingly for a tech site, their interface is much inferior, with no editing or deleting posts.) Does this sound familiar PT?
Are there any EFL sites that even come close? General EFL sites that are anything but marginally useful out there?
Hmm, I'm debating the wisdom of asking this as I post it, Oh well...

Why am I here?

Because I have a break from lessons.
Because I am a TEFL teacher.
Because the internet forums i want to look at are banned at work.
Because I like heated discussions.
Because I am interested in others experiences.
Because some posters can be entertaining and controversial.
Because having checked my emails and read the UK papers there's nothing else except ebay to look at!
Because I am postponing typing up the years test results.

I originally became a member to post only one question, and never intended to reply to anyone else's posts or comments. Well, it began with one comment I could not resist not responsing to, that was my initiation. Now I am a full-fledged Daveaholic.Laughing
