Great, great movie. Some of my friends were lukewarm about it, and I've been trying to figure out why. Many characters are very protective (or overprotective) of certain others, and it may be hard to relate if you haven't felt that way about someone. First Sci-Fi movie in a long while to be about People. It also makes a relatively subtle commentary about imperialism and cultural imperialism, for those who might be adverse to watching the typical Hollywood blockbuster.

I'm up for anything that has Joss Whedon involved but it's not out here for about another two weeks. Also then I have to find somewhere that it is playing in it's original version and not the French dub. I know, I know, it's all good practise but it can also be incredibly frustrating when you are sure that what you are watching is a good movie and you'd really like it, if only you could understand what's going on Razz

I'll save the educational experiences for my weekly French Cinema lectures.
