Dear Mary Lou:

Let me guess: your little brother (aka the "twerp") is the one who's been masquerading as the esteemed guru scot47, right? Gosh, it's so obvious when you think about it!

Aloha,

Irish
(who is actually a 6'7" tall Polynesian fire dancer)

Dear Irish,
Golly, I had you pictured as being only 6'6'. What a shocker. And yes, the twerp ( aka Gilbert ) is really scot47. He ( the little jerk ) thinks he's so wicked smart, but he's a real pain in the patootie. Gee, Irish, I'm glad you're not mad at me. Can I run away from home ( nobody understands me in this crummy dump ) and stay with you? I promise I won't be any bother and I'll do all the housework, cross my heart.
Regards,
Mary Lou

Well, Mary Lou, this might be a problem. See, I really live on an atoll in the Pacific waaaaaaaay past that cheesy tourist trap called Hawaii. I'm not sure that this is the right place from which to launch your acting career, although the Friday night rooster fights are very popular with all twenty-eight of our citizens. Perhaps you can do a monologue between matches.

If you're up for it, build yourself a raft and paddle on over (go six hundred miles past Vanuatu and take a left, you can't miss it). Just be sure to bring along your weight in Spam (preferably Spicy Spam).

E komo mai,

"Irish"
(I never use my real name here--typing all those repeating syllables would give me carpal tunnel syndrome)

Dear Irish,
Wow, thanks - I'm on my way. Thanks for the directions. I should be there in a day or two. Hawaii doesn't look all that far away on the map.
See you soon.
Regards,
Mary Lou
P.S. Anybody know where I can get 300 pounds of Spicy Spam?

Dear MaryLou

After a disastrous morning at the training track where Manfred bit the trainer, the jockey and the tail of the Diwan's prize thoroughbred camel, I really don't care if you're the Great Gonzo!
However, if you can ride you've got yourself a job because the jockey has quit (after a lot of screeching in Arabic and flaying of arms in the air)!
regards
Zakiah

And here we have the answer to the OP's title question.

This is the true effect of an EFL career on otherwise normal human beings.

Very Happy

I like to think of it as a job benefit.

As I sit here playing the role of Waldorf in Sesame Street, and about to enjoy my 10 week summer vaction, all seems well with the world. This won't do ! I must hop over to the Newbie forum and fire a few salvos at the innocent young newbs.

Maybe my sidekick, Statler, aka johnslat could use a hand.
