I'm not attacking you. Or anyone else. Why would I?

If you are so worried about money, why are you in Poland? Be smart and move somewhere else for a while and save for the house in Poland, It will make your life easier. Probably one years wages in some countries could buy a house in Poland.

Although it looks Alex has figured out something.

I actually agree with Jay Z when it comes to making money in Poland.

I remember a friend of mine in Cracow who was teaching 40 hours so that he could save some money.

But why put yourself through this?

One can easily go abroad with the experience they have in Poland and teach someplace where they can save up a substantial amount of money.

Sure it may not be enough to buy a flat in Warsaw, but for me personally I don't think Warsaw represents the best of what Poland has to offer.

Here in Asia I know of people who are able to save a $1000 US a month easily. You can find jobs like this in Shanghai, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Korea and in other cities in Asia.

In fact there are a lot of Poles here teaching English just for that reason.

I just don't understand why someone would subject themselves to working so many hours for so little pay.

Backpacker or not, married or not, whether you're curious about the world or not, I personally don't see anything wrong with enjoying life in Poland.

Good times.

P.S. That's just the way I see it.

Well at least here working 40 hours a week would give you an income after tax of 8000PLN. Which would give you enough money to have a damn fine lifestyle and either save money or pay off a mortgage by yourself.

I know people here who save the same amount.

8000PLN is not a small amount of money. It's enough to pay off a mortgage, drive a new car and live a good life. And 40 hours really isn't that much when you think about it. If you can get the same sort of groups (ie the same type of students at the same levels) then you can plan one class and use it a few times in the week. If you spend 30 minutes planning each 45 minute lesson but can use each lesson with two different classes you will work for 60 minutes. So 40 classes a week will be 40 hours a week. That is a normal working week outside the teaching world!

With that said I probably average about 32 classes a week. I teach a lot of individual classes and those cancel about once every month or two.

Maybe in Warsaw but in Cracow it was more like 5000 .

Besides that amount is still less than half of your Saudi quote of 35,000 pounds.

Even work in Saudi pays 35,000 a year at most.

Do you know of people in Warsaw who are saving $2000 a month?

Because that's not unheard of in Taiwan if someone is willing to work for 40 hours a week.

My point being, that one can go abroad for a few years and return to Poland to buy a flat.
