Call me stupid but if you are in the UK or US you teach ESL, but if you are in Turkey or the Gulf you teach EFL. |

OK all you need to do is ask.
All I was saying was that if you teach English in a country where it is the lingua franca then it is a second language so you are an ESL teacher.
If you teach English in a country where it is a foreign language then you are an EFL teacher.
I was confused about the painting Danish flags on face bit.
Anyway what do I Care, it is Liverpool- man U this weekend. Does anyone know if it is on telly? |

As I understand it, the acronym TESOL (Teaching of English to Speakers of Other Languages) stands above the specific categories of ESL and EFL ...
The Danish flag on the faces of EFL teachers ... is the identifying colour shown by the 'we' of Mr Buzz's post ... the 'we' you said were EFL teachers ... and the 'we' that others may distance themselves from by being referred to as TESOL (or TEFL or TESL) teachers ...
