I wasn't saying that you misunderstood me. I was clarifying what I said, as I could see how it may not have been clear enough.

Anyway, this is all semantics. The point is that you can't work at a 2nd school without a 2nd work permit.

Also, it should be said that getting a school to sponsor a 2nd work permit is not an easy thing to do. The case could be made that it's illegal either way because you need to have at least 14 hours at a school in order to qualify for a work permit. How often does a teacher work for at least 14 hours at 2 different schools? It happens, but it's an extremely small minority. Really, it would make a lot more sense for the government to just allow teachers to work at 2 different schools, as long as they have a fully legal permit at one. This makes sense for a lot of reasons.

Even better, wouldn't it be great if the government clarified a LOT of the ambiguities in the laws surrounding English teaching and then sent out booklets to every foreign teacher!

Nah, that sounds too good to be true Smile

You are wrong.

It is legal to work at a second school and many EFL'ers indeed do work legally at a second school.

One ARC and 2 schools.

You are out of your depth yet again with the above quote.

If by "One ARC two schools" you mean that the teachers has a WORK PERMIT at both schools, then you are correct.
They need that work permit at both schools.

Most teachers working at 2 schools don't have a work permit at both schools. I'd venture to say the percentage of people working illegally in such situations is well over 90%. Now, the odds of getting caught are extremely low. Most will never have a problem. However, a number of teachers were deported for this exact issue last year. As such, it's important for people to have this information.
