Oh dear! You too appear not to be in favour with our leaders.
Again I have to use a proxy to access you. But on reading it I can't uinderstand why you have offended the powers that be. There's nothing about China in it. But you querying the absolute correctness of officialdom - that might be the reason.
Or is it "blogspot.com"?
btw. would you be having all this residence trouble if you were married to your girlfriend? |
Mondrian, your hunch is correct: blogspot is indeed banned in China and subject to periodic blackouts in South Korea (which bears a passing resemblance to the North, at least in the realm of social and political liberty if not in food rations). This meant that I was often subjected to the whims of actual face to face human interaction. It was hell I tell you. |

Luckily I dont have anything that critical to say about the institutes in Salta - theyre pretty good to me really. My biggest worry is that my blog may come across as anti-Argentine. Its not supposed to be (after all, my girlfriend is Argentine and I do choose to live here!)
My new favourite teacher blog, by the way, is http://www.englishteacherx.blogspot.com , with its accompanying website http://www.englishteacherx.com . Its absolutely hilarious in places. |

It depends a lot on the relationship you have with your supervisors, directors, or whoever. Several of my teachers have blog spots, which I occasionally read. (Since they frequently use my computer to update them, it would be hard for me not to know who they were!)
I find them funny and informative about the lives of foreign teachers in Ecuador.
Mostly, teachers here don't go to anonymous internet settings to complain about problems at work. They come into my office to do that!
Best,
Justin |

Just to add to this, no blog is truly anonymous. It may be Asiatown but everyone in Polandville knows the real deal. Don't go into it assuming that you're leading some sort of daring double life and nobody has any idea who you are. That's what the CIA is for. Used to be for anyway. |

Thread resurrection time!
Albeit for an entirely selfish purpose, namely because I put together an e-booklet which I'm offering for the princely sum of 5 Whatizits. (5 euros, pounds, bucks whatever your local currency is. Unless your currency is the Tanzanian Shilling.)
Blog it.
Buy it.
Make me proud. |

| Tempted, aye. 5 platinum ounces would hit the spot though. |

I didn't bother putting mine up before since it was tiny and not really teaching related. But now it is a bit bigger... still not teaching related, but bigger! http://perpetualtraveller.blogspot.com The teaching stuff will probably come once I hit Japan in two weeks, in the meantime you can just be jealous of my recent trip round Eastern Europe.

Just for yur info, blogspot sites seem to be unavailable here in Syria. No idea why. I've tried to access several of the ones posted on this thread and all are denied. Other blog sites are fine. I'll check again at an internet cafe but it doesnt look good.
best
