Same girl, 3 years ago - she was a cool person and a close friend of mine, not the sort of person that would take any s*hit from anyone.

Ruby Njoman (the director who assaulted her) was threatening to have her thrown in jail unless she signed a waiver denying any wrongdoing on the schools part.

The same thing happened to me, they held my passport (Illegally) until such times as I signed a letter stating that I would not take any legal action against the franchise. I called the British consulate and they took care of things, complained to EF head office but 'they don't deal with complaints against franchises'.

Sounds more like a timeshare outfit than an 'educational' establishment...

Bear in mind this is the franchise with the keylogging scandal (amongst other misgivings) and you have a pretty sorry looking outfit.

How strange... If you look at KGB's (or whatever he's called) posts you read about how nice EF Chernobyl (sorry, Bekasi) is, then in the next post we learn that three out of four FT's are leaving the same week.

'EF Chernobyl (sorry, Bekasi)'

Precisely.

KGB certainly sounds like a plant, I'd be very suprised if he wasn't the DOS or at least down on his knees in the DOS's office on a hefty retainer.

Yeah I admit there's a personal axe to grind with EF but frankly the ONLY way to hit 'em back is to keep the forums full of truthfully damaging anecdotes and facts. A school without staff is a step away from a strip of warungs.

Would be good to see a few EF contracts posted on this site to help the gullibles out there see just how much of a bad move working for this pack of fools would actually be.

You mean, like, the fly trap type with sticky stuff on the leaves. Very Happy

Since the postings have come up i have seen more adds for teachers, on TEFL there were 5 yesterday.

Where I was they also have a very bad rep. I have met two teachers in the next town, stayed 6 months and left.
The ones in my town, I have never meet, something to do with the fact that teaching is so far from oil and mining ($$$) they didn't want to be seen. (not to talk down to teachers, I am one. but when you hit the bar and other expats are spending 1juta +....)

Truth? What about:

Anyone else out there heard about the two teachers left in an East Jakarta hospital over the weekend with suspected avian flu, whilst the EF school (local to the Bekasi area) denied any responsibility or involvement?

Yeah, this sounds like you are full of the truth. I am truthfully a teacher halfway through a one year contractat EF Bekasi, and the three teachers that left were done their contracts, and went home as they were planning from when they signed their contracts a year ago. As far as I am concerened, any problems that this franchise may have had in the past, is far behind them. Three years is a long time, get over it.

Fact 1: Bekasi (and Kalimalang) is still owned by the same keylogging/teacher slapping directors of old. The franchise has been removed from the original Solo owner and given (reluctantly I should imagine) to his brother.

Fact 2: After a couple of phone calls it turns out that the only teacher who is part way through his contract at Bekasi is also the acting DOS who is actively trying to recruit...

Do the math folk, or as KJB would say 'wake up and smell the satay'.

Avoid this group, try TBI or any of the hiring national plus schools...

paps, did he slap her or did he punch her??...you have now made references to both actions in your posts on this subject and i am no longer sure which one is "true"......oh wait, i get it, how about if we make another small change and say that he did both?..yeah, lets do that. oh man, i am really starting to like this story of yours now. what can we change next? something to really spice it up a bit..its up to you man, go for it!!

on another note, who exactly went on strike at bekasi?
kester never went on strike ( by the way, he views this forum and finds your posts hillarious)
patrick never went on strike
linnea (sp error, i think) wouldn't know what " going on strike" means so i doubt she did it either
........... with that being said i have to tip my hat to you and say that it appears that you may have, in some way, been a part of the smallest/least successful " strike " of all time. well done.

Tee hee! Just searched for Bekasi on a string of travel related search tools. This was a typical result:

>We currently do not have any Attractions available in Bekasi. We add new features to MyTravelGuide every day. Please check back soon. >

coalition

Interesting word - I wonder what political end you were hoping for by uniting these bottles?

Now you have me wondering: 'what exactly would a Bekasi Bargirl coalition look like?'

Beefer, with a name like that you must have been up on assault and battery charges in the past, hence the demand for the distinction between a slap and a bunch of fives? Did you argue like that in the showers with the other cons or just pick yer soap up like a good boy?

1156 views on a forum aimed at ridiculing the EF Bekasi school and its affiliates is a job well done in my book.

There's no power like negative publicity, eh KJB?

Never you mind my coalition of bottles, they are doing just fine, much like all the political coalition I know of, doing nothing!
