If you look at it as per contact hour pay, then MAs pay a lot more (assuming you don't actually want to have tonnes of contact hours, and assuming that preparation time for a contact hour is about the same). And if you are looking at it that way, then the odd private job that comes along is a lot easier to figure out a fee for as well. |

jp teach - thanks for your post. This is a very helpful thread! I too am looking to get my MA TESOL in Fall 2008 and have been considering MIIS.
For a while I was considering East Coast schools - Teacher's College at Columbia, Hunter, and UPenn. I even did an informational interview with a NYC ESL teacher/teacher trainer who went to Hunter and thought I would go there. I've been in the city for a while though and am looking forward to sunnier climes.
I'm also planning to teach in Argentina in early 2008, so if you want to share information / commiserate, let me know! |
