It's also typical of the man's oversize ego that he would post an oversize photo that makes reading posts a pain for others.

It's time you get off your high horse, dickie. I don't think it's a matter of size. Did you forget your twelve steps?

On close inspection it's easy to spot a non-native.

Any intermediate level textbook will tell you 'it's time' is followed by simple past.

Kynro, that's true, but Americans don't always follow the rules. I've heard both present and past in my time. But that's irrelevant.

In a srange way it's nice to see bindair, I mean Big Cannon back. It makes us all realize how inferior we are to him. Very Happy

I'm sure those pea-brained subjects from UK(United Kerala) will appreciate a class on American English from you while they curry some chump chop with spotted dick for the colonials.

oh yeah, all my friends look like that. whenever i go out in england i always have bruised faces and am vomiting into the kerb. in fact i think whenever i go into a pub all i see is people in fights etc... In fact every single friend I know is currently covered in bruises.

Don't you think that the reason the english suddenly have become worse over the past few years is because you've been living in poland for the last few years??? the poles are stunning i'll give them that, but that doesn't mean that everyone else in the world isn't.

You can't generalise an entire nation on one link to an obviously dodgy webpage of european women against the worst of the worst of us brits. Believe me I live in poland, and although there are some beautiful people there are some people who aren't. I could go round with a camera and take some equally dodgy pictures of poles too if I could be bothered. Not everyone in england is like that, and if you're english then you should know that.

I think you might have missed the humour element of that thread by a fair few miles, Rose. Of course it isn't meant to be indicative, but in general, from a male perspective, you're far more likely to see some eyecandy on the streets of Poland than you would in the UK.

It isn't fair to stereotype, and we've covered the topic of Polish women over and over on this forum, but however you look at it you're fighting a losing battle. If you want a general indicator, spend 15mins at a cafe table in an English high street counting the number of women you "would," and then compare that number to 15mins in any Polish shopping area. It's the only way to be sure.

I here the same thing in Romania about how hot the Romanian girls are.

Actually I think I have a theory. I was stuck on the main drag through the centre of town the other day with 20 minutes to kill before an in-company lesson. The weather was fine so I bought a juice and plonked myself down on a wall to wait.

I was thinking about this and similar debates and so I did look more carefully at the passing 'talent'. I would say that about one in ten of all the 16-35 year-old women who passed by was dressed in a short skirt, a revealing top, high heels and clothes of that kind. Whilst fixated on this 'eye candy' a number of less attractive women would pass without being noticed. Even many of the sexily-attired ladies were not particularly beautiful, just provocative, and besides, the eyes rarely wandered up as far as the face. Shocked Deliberated trying to avoid being misdirected by the amount of exposed flesh, I discovered many unattractive girls slipping past unnoticed.

It reminds me of that sitcom 'Coupling'. In one episode one of the boys, the paticularly superficial one, is in conversation with two 'hotties' and their more robust co-worker. In his eyes the less attractive one simply disappears and he can only see the two tasty ladies. He even at one point remembers her a male. She simply doesn't register on his radar.

So maybe many the guys aren't lying when they say 'every girl I saw was fit'. Very Happy

Mike

Listen sweetpea,
As Richfilth said, it was all supposed to be a bit of a laugh.
It baffles me why some posters take themselves a little too seriously.
Without meaning to sound like David Brent, you can make useful posts and have a bit of a laugh at the same time.
I actually agree with you, I think the girls are slightly overrated in Poland and there are a fair few munters.

You say that like it's a bad thing?

Man, if you spent a little less time thinking about this stuff and a little more time talking to these girls you would realize something important:

Polish (and probably most Eastern European) girls are much friendlier and approachable than girls back home.

It is also nice that there aren't guys waiting 3-deep at Polish bars to talk to every single girl there: ...NEXT!

these threads quickly deteriorate don't they...

One thing that is certainly interesting is the sheer number of posts made on the Polish forums, far eclipsing the vast majority of others. Despite the TEFL field being undeniably large there, it nonethless says a lot about the country and a great number of the teachers who go there. As to what that 'lot' may be...

Bust some myths. I can't comment on US girls Master Shake, but I can categorically say that in my experience (which includes living at different times in various parts of my homeland- the UK -as well as many culturally different parts of Poland) the girls- indeed the people per se- are no more friendly than those back home.

Nor are the girls more attractive- homogeneity being only one of the things which makes this the case. Naturally, it's all a matter of taste but the comments on the attractiveness of polish, ukrainian blah bloah women are frankly laughable.

And revealing. Once again, as to what it reveals...

Poland. Will always love it. But...

To each their own, nabakow.

But I think I am far from alone in saying that Polish girls, in my experience, are thinner and more attractive than girls from the US and UK.

Maybe you have 'deteriorated' a little too much to really appreciate Smile
