| I was just wondering where all these DFers live, painting a picture of an insect infested environment. Expect for the occasional fly, which is normal even in cold and rainy Blighty, we have no visitors, neither here in Narvarte nor in Escandn where we used to live. |
Im not infested. There are just enough mosquitoes to continually bother me!
Currently we have a few ants...in the bathroom! But not in the kitchen. No roaches. Use to get roaches in my old place, further south, but then I also had an indoor patio for my bottom floor place. |

Ants like water for some weird reason. I once lived in a place where every morning my glass of water by my bed would be full of (and I hope this puts a certain song in your head, like it did mine) dead ants.
I just realised I'm participating in this discussion more than I've participated in any other on Dave's for quite some time. I know I'm Australian, and have grown up in extenuating circumstances when it comes to dealing with insects, but still, I'm worried. |

The song it put in my head is by DMB "Ants Marching" - what song are you thinking of?
As for being an Aussie talking about bugs, Im just glad that we dont need your advice on identifying what is/isnt poisonous! |

Its funny, after living withoug GREAT BIG SPIDERS for 4 years now, it still strikes me as odd that I no longer shake out my shoes before I put them on. The other night I was watching one of those home improvement shows, and this guy walks into a shed without looking around, grabs two bits of 2 x 4 and strides out without casting a second look at where he was going or the wood in his hands. Where I'm from doing for that is asking for trouble, and even watching it on tv made me feel uncomfortable.
Funny what you get used to. |

| I stood on one of them in my kitchen once. I'm always barefoot in the house, and they go squelch underfoot. Made me yelp and leap about with the grossness of it all.. |

| Gasp! I saw one of those on in front of my building, and I solemnly promise it was actually strutting down the sidewalk. My landlord told me it was called Mancha caras. I sure hope I never see another one! |

| I've looked for that Cucafin stuff and haven't seen it anywhere. And no one seems to know what I'm talking about. Does anyone know what stores I can find it in? |

Yeah, it's sort of non-commercial, not the kind of thing they sell in big stores--I bet ya Raids got a hand in there somewhere. In addition to street venders, random small shops sell it in my town, like one in particular is a bedding shop, just sells sheets, blankets, pillow, and cuca-fin!
Try ASKING about it in a naturalista, if they don't sell it, they just might buy it themselves and can tell you where they buy it from. |
