It only expires after 180 days if you don't make any calls. So, if you're like me and make one call every 3 months or so, the credit doesn't expire..

From the website:

Quote:
Skype Credit remains active for 180 days after your last use of a product or feature that uses credit. So making a single call, or sending a single SMS will make sure your Skype Credit is active for a further 180 days.

I got confused with that too, its not real clear, but it definitely doesn't expire after 180 days provided you make a call during that time.

I've only skimmed responses to this, but am so excited to have something to contribute that I'll toss it in the ring.

This looks like a very thorough and updated analysis.

That's a great summary! Except:

1) I don't know why they insist you need an alternate phone to unlock/take to Mexico. I have only had one phone in the past three years, and it has served me just fine in other countries and returning back to use in the US. Just get your current one unlocked.

2) I have never heard the term "flexeo" for unlocking a phone. Has anyone else? I've always heard "desbloquear" and sometimes "liberar".

But otherwise, that is very thorough!

What kind of phone do you already have? If it is a samsung or a nokia, you should be able to find a key sequence online that will unlock it (voiding the warranty) and making it usable on any network. That's the easiest way to do it.

My phone now goes back and forth between Telcel and Cingular

I'm so excited. I finally bought myself a cell phone, paid 350 pesos and got 300 pesos free calling time. Now when I'm on-line, my friends and students can call me and get through on my cell phone instead of getting a busy signal.
