| No - more likely a Pakistani maths teacher who gets an odd thrill out of hanging out on an EFL board. |

Well, tante Cleo, did you change your mind? last time you said that I am a Sudanese maths teacher, then you changed your mind and you said that I am an Egyptian maths teacher, and now you said I am a Pakistani!!!
Poor Pakistani, Sudanese and Egyptian maths teachers, always are under fire from the Irish tante Cleo!
Give them a break, tante Cleo. |

Whatever, it's clear that you are not a native English speaker working in the ME region. And that's whose advice is sought on the forum.
That said, I do find your posts amusing and would be sad if you stopped. |

I find his posts oddly politically-clipped. Amusing? Definitely yes! (Yes, there'll be many sighs from the many right-winged denizens of David's, on my above observations).
007 is a world citizen. Love him, dislike him. You can't ignore him.
Dear Spiral,
About that part that stated that "And that's whose advice is sought on the forum. ", I beg that I'll have to disagree. Only native speakers? No offence. |

Hmmm, possibly too narrow a definition. But I was operating on the assumption that most posters here are native English speakers either working or wishing to work in the ME. I'd be curious what the percentage of non-native English speakers who are active on the forum really is.
I still think it's most likely true to say 'generally whose advice is sought.'
Not to imply that I think non-native English speakers are less-than-valid teachers - I don't agree with this idea at all. |

Maybe try- fornicators dot com ...aka ... expatriates dot com for this sort of inquiry
Honestly, you are not likely to get any open responses regarding such questions on this forum...if this sort of 'entertainment' is a priority for you...maybe try the UAE. However, perhaps the more foolhardy characters on this board might pm you though
Okay now for your entertainment...back to ...who is 007...???

| cmp45, I don't necessarily expect people to post right here in the thread if they don't feel comfortable with it. Of course palms are welcomed. |

I would guess the non-native English speakers who are active in Dave's forum represent a percentage of 20% to 40%.
The non-native English speakers not active are about 5%!
The percentage of non-native English speakers, who are active, including myself, in this thread is around 19%. |

Really, Jabberjaw! You are lucky that nobody from the Nurses' Guild came out strongly against you.
Or the Medical Association. |

Exactly...I guess subtle sacrasm was wasted on jabberjaw...perhaps a more direct approach would have been more effective... |

Not questioning the stats, but am curious as to their origins. What analysis of Dave's across the board did you conduct? This particular thread is easier to calculate, but I'm interested in how you made such an analysis of the whole forum. |

| Back to the subject of this thread, what are the working hours of PMU? And do you have to work on Thursdays as well...? |

I received the following information from PMU regarding full-time faculty teaching workloads about a month ago:
*Preparation Year Program, EFL faculty: 20 contact hours
*Preparation Year Program, Math faculty: 18 contact hours
*Preparation Year Program, Study Skills faculty: 16 contact hours
*All college faculty (including core): 16 contact hours
In addition to the actual hours spent teaching, I'd like to know if faculty are obliged to remain on campus for a certain number of hours each day ---as is the case at an increasing number of institutions in other GCC educational institutions.
