which became the highest -grossing U.K movie of all time , after overtaking 'Titanic' and outselling all other items on Amazon in 2008 Exclamation

Sadly, Benny has put his foot down...

Mamma Mia - a sequel? That immediately raises a question:

Can the sequel be as impossibly bad as its predecessor?

Now that will be a challenge.

Dear Mojoski,

You actually sat through the whole thing???!!!! You're made of sterner stuff than I am. I lasted though about ten minutes.
I'd never thought I'd terminate a Meryl Streep movie.
Regards,
John

Meryl Streep remains hot. I loved her scene with Jack Nicholson rolling in the flour in the "The Postman Never Rings Twice" remake. Woo-Hoo!!!

Yes...er,well, anyway...
returning to matters relating to Oman
for just a moment...

Muscat-based music radio station Hi 95.9 FM is supporting
the Sohar Music Festival this year:-
http://website.yourhifm.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=105:sohar-music-festival-2009&catid=40:local-events&Itemid=226

It is possible that this station, which is available online,
may be covering parts of the festival live.

Lets hope so!

Here is some latest news concerning the
Sohar Music Festival 2009... Cool

The Brazilian music quartet of Jan Dumee,
( www.jandumee.com ) -
formerly of legendary Dutch rock band Focus,

- and vocalist Magda Mendes

has been added to the bill of the International Jazz Evening
on Thursday, 29th October.

So, the start time for the performances in this now packed programme
of live music has been brought forward to 4 p.m..

Also, I believe that Hi FM ( http://website.yourhifm.com )
will be presenting some of that evening's performances live
from the Sohar Crowne Plaza Hotel. Very Happy

The opening night of SMF 2009
at the Al Batinah International School went well...
and now we move on to the headline event of this year's festival -
the International Jazz Evening at the Sohar Crowne Plaza...

Audio downloads of the latest signing to this event,
Jan Dumee , are now available for free at:-
http://www.jandumee.com/index.php?option=com_zoom&Itemid=49&catid=2

Although he is from the Netherlands, the Brazilian influence
on Dumee's music is clear and strong.

December has arrived, but there is as yet no news
of "Mamma Mia" coming to Sohar... Sad
Maybe next year?

To serve as consolation, here is a link to the talented Colombian musician,
Alex El Cantante, jamming with Saskia Laroo
at the Sohar Crowne Plaza Hotel during the recent music festival... Smile

Three of the original members of the Batinah Blues Band
returned to the Sohar Music Festival last November.
They now perform as the Soul Survivors Band.

Their performance was very well received
by a large and lively crowd at the Sohar Beach Hotel. Smile
Plenty of photos plus 2 short video clips of this performance
are now available to view at:-
http://www.flickr.com/photos/soharmusicfestival/ Smile

And, for those of you suffering from Mamma Mia
withdrawal symptoms, relief is now available
at the newly opened ABBAWORLD.

According to Ian OConnell, Director of Musion,
ABBAWORLD is taking a bold step in showing the
worlds first live motion capture interactive hologram
in the form of a live karaoke concert.
We are delighted to help facilitate this cutting edge
holographic presentation which will enable
visitors to experience a truly immersive
ABBA concert.
