| Does anyone know of any Middle Eastern countries (or other countries) that won't deny a visa b/c of Hep C? I'm checking embassies' websites to see who requires a medical and who doesn't, but if you know of some countries right off hand, please share. Thanks. |

| To the best of my knowledge it's only the Gulf countries. In some countries there is a unified medical exam for all Gulf countries, visas. |

| By the way, I did speak w/ someone at the Saudi Arabia embassy in DC, and she confirmed that they do not take anyone with hepatitis. I asked about having antibodies but not an active infection, and she gave the same response several times. |

As I said, the test is for the antigen for Hepatitis A & B. All Saudis under 30 have antibodies for Hepatitis B since the Kingdom started compulsory vaccination of all primary school children in the early nineties to counter what had long been an endemic disease in the Kingdom (infection rates were running at about 12%).
You have just found out that people in official positions often don't understand what they are talking about. Marhaba! |
