Gordon,

what are your facts?

You're quick to accuse me of not having any 'facts' when you haven't offered any 'facts' either.

Have you proven me and the others who have posted negative comments about USQ to be wrong?

I don't even know the several people who have posted negative comments about USQ on the different threads at Daves's.

No, you haven't, have you.

It's clear you don't really know much.

Hard for you to accept that your degree is from a degree mill, isn't it.

I haven't made any accusations about USQ. If it is a degree mill then prove it. Show me a site that says this, there are a few degree mill sites out there. It is recognized by the Australian government as are Canadian universites by the Cdn gov't.
Your "stories" mean nothing. I could say I met The Japanese PM last night, that doesn't mean anything. Prove I didn't. That is silly.

How can I prove your stories are false? You would make a terrible lawyer.

Gordon,

this is an internet message board

USQ and other Australian universities have been described as 'degree mills' meaning that they have lowered the standards to increase student enrollment.

The schools have essentially devalued the M.A. degree.

Just because it is accredited doesn't mean it isn't a degree mill.

can't you respond without personal attacks?

If it is accreditted by the government, it is not a degree mill. A degree mill is one that grants life experience or other such nonsense as credit or accepts a few hundred bucks and gives you a piece of paper.

So is this what USQ and other Australian accredited universities do?

Gordon,

It seems that you are the one who can't make logical arguments.

You make personal attacks instead of refuting what peopel of said about USQ.

This is getting circular and repetitive. One last summary of my view then I'm out.
Quote:
they have lowered the standards

This is an argument used against universities across the board in every country and every department.

It's a simplification and generalization made to romanticize the past and prevent future generations from progressing beyond current accomplishments. It has been said about UCLA, Texas A&M and countless others.

USQ is an innovatve University following international standards and the practices of their face-to-face peers. Online and distance learning is here to stay and ALL universites are investing heavily in it. It is the future. The past will never be the same again.

USQ is well regarded in the Australian educational industry. Not sure, but they might be one of the 'Group of 8', which is a group the most respected universities in Australia.

USQ, one of the Group of 8! I think not!

It's a hick place, very pompous and mainly hot air. But they do have delusions.

For God's sake, go to a decent uni. in Brisbane.

It's little better than those gels' secondary schools in Toowoomba, peopled when I knew the place some years back, with more than its share of tartan skirted, rah rah rah, hockey playing ladies - or so it seemed to me.

As for intellectual stimulation, apart from the great wankery of the place, it's dead, dead, dead. Take a lecturer at random and make a search of his/her publications. Talk about the world's smallest books.

Still chasing that tail in circles, old dog?

Let me open a window because we need some fresh air in this discussion.

OLD DOG,

You are so right.

I did do a google.com on my lecturers - nothing came up.

Not well published or experienced.

Some of them haven't even done any research and only hold M.A. degrees through coursework.

1 lecturer only has a certificate in Linguistics! Shocked

I wouldn't recommend USQ to anyone.

And, yes, Toowoomba is a little hick, red-necky town with nothing to do.

Ah, Gordon, you caught him there. He's either a hick very familiar with the town and its inhabitants or pretending to be one of them. Which is the sadder scenario? 'Tis hard to say.

Failures will always look around them and find others to blame for their failures. Then they inevitably end up in China and bore the hell out of other posters on Dave's Cafe with their tired old routine that was old even in the old forum.

Gordon,

More personal attacks - why?

I though you'd be above ad hominem attacks considering I made no reference to you at all in my post (or Merlin).

Your comments further reveal your weak personality.

I'm actually curious why you always seem to denigrate places you have lived or studied. You are not doing yourself any favours. Are you ever happy?

Gordon,

I don't like USQ, the MAPPL program or Toowoomba - neither do a few other people on this forum!

What is it that you have a problem with?

You seem to have a really tough time getting your head around the fact that USQ isn't a good school and that Toowoomba isn't a good place for a foreign student to live for a year.

In fact, I cannot help but wonder why You take it so personally.

Merlin, Gordon lives in the sticks of Shikoku.

Therefore, I'm sure he can tell you all about what it's like living in a 'hick' town. LOL!!!
